Support Us
The Clay Commons CIC has chosen to be an income generating organisation to build resilience in the face of cuts to arts funding. However, access is a guiding principle for us, and so we aim to keep all our membership costs as low as possible. This means we still need your support to provide accessible programming and opportunities and welcome one off or ongoing donations.
Ethical Funding
The Clay Commons CIC believes in the transformative potential of clay to create inclusive, more sustainable and ethical societies. This means we run as a democratic, multi-voice organisation and are transparent about our choices and politics. This requires a critical and ethical approach to everything we do, including funding. We’re a young organisation and do not expect to get everything right, but we are on this journey with you and are here to learn. We are working to develop an ethical fundraising policy, which can be found here (when its written!).
Mission
To co-create a shared community of material-led education and practice that is democratic, accessible, resilient and creative. We believe that creative education is a central agent for societal change and that clay is the common ground with which to build more equitable and creative futures.
